First this isn't an objection, it's just a question.
I was wondering if it matters that otfc is pure Python, which is absolutely
not GPL --they specifically state the ways they differ from the GPL on their
web site.
http://www.python.org/psf/license/
In part: "There is no GPL-like "copyleft" restriction. Distributing
binary-only versions of Python, modified or not, is allowed. There is no
requirement to release any of your source code. You can also write extension
modules for Python and provide them only in binary form."
And also, as otfc is actually a subset of SPI , which is a fine project, but
totally Open Source centric, rather then GPL centric, does the otfc stance
matter?
I personally don't have too much difficulty with these things, but it occurred
to me that some might --I mean if Digg is a no no, and the use of Gmail is
being frowned on, etc. is someone going to come along and bring up these
issues (I mean in a complaining about them manner)?
It would be something to consider first anyway, I'd say. Just consider is all
--I personally have not a clue as to how those two things might be viewed.
But I am aware there are a lot of people with viewpoints about the what is
acceptable as 'Free'....
Don.

Okay, I will register gnulinux-help Sunday unless someone objects. I'm
being careful because we don't want to change the name later.
