Well Vista is certainly consistent; You can't stop it from backing up stuff 
you don't want backed up, and at the same time it's backing it all up where 
you can only retrieve it for 'more money'...

I've read several articles about schemes where the bad guy takes over your 
computer and encrypts the files, then demands money for the key to decrypt 
them.

Apparently that's Microsoft Vista Business Technology they are using.
